Note: Make sure that pistols and magazines are unloaded and clear

Pull trigger, applying pressure, cycle slide quickly, release trigger slowly and check the trigger safety.

Pull trigger, applying no pressure (finger outside the trigger guard), cycle slide quickly, and check to see if the trigger is in forward position.

Pull trigger, applying pressure, cycle slowly in horizontal position making sure gun locks up well.

Shake gun with trigger pulled and finger outside the trigger guard, listen if firing pin is free.

If gun is equipped with NY trigger, apply moderate pressure on the trigger before testing.
