Fellow Enthusiasts,
Please understand that I am not in the military or law enforcement, so I have not been priviledged to handle the pinnacle state-of-the-science tools of the trade. I do feel that I write with a knowledge base far superior to the average citizen.
After reading a product review on Policemag.com, I mounted the M6X in tandem with an Eotech 512 on my Kel-Tec PLR16.
I am pleased to report that this compact combination of illuminator, laser sight, holographic sight, and 5.56mm firepower, makes one more than ready for any home defense situation.
The Slide-Lock on the M6X mounts solidly to the Picatinny rail handguards of the PLR16. The M6X controls are simple and easily mastered for zero-light, touch-only deployment. For such a small unit, the intensity and range of illumination, in a dark room or on the moonless countryside, is frankly amazing. The laser is equally impressive.
On a shaded target, the system has proven capable of 1" groups at 50 yds, from a rest, using M193 ball and the laser. In the hands of an experienced operator, repeated hits on small bottles of water at 50 ft, from the hip, are readily achieved.
Besides the obvious advantages, I have found the M6X makes for one of the most fun set-ups in my collection.
Other couch potatoes will understand... all I can say is, "Blam-Wow!"
